Grandma Gets a Time-Out

Too funny. On Wednesday, my parents spent the day with Kyle at their house and brought him home and cooked dinner for us. After dinner we were visiting and talking about hot topics, such as Jon cheating on Kate (from Jon & Kate Plus Eight if you're not "in the know") :-) My mom made some comment about him being "stupid". Kyle stopped, dead in his tracks, and said, "we don't say that word in our house!" Note: Kyle had a time out last week because he said it! Kyle decided that my mom should have a time-out too, so she went and sat in the designated time-out spot. It was rather funny and my mom promised to never say that word again!

One of Kyle's favorite things these days is to check in on the robin's egg that he found on one of his walks with Cheryl. Cheryl put it in a small bowl for him with cotton balls and we have to look at it every day. And each morning we look out our bedroom window and see a robin. He always says, "that's a robin because it has an orange tummy!". And now he wants to know which robin was the mommy of the egg that we have. Such a curious fellow these days.

I'm wondering if we've started a new tradition at our house. For the second Friday in a row, we ventured out to dinner! We tried someplace new tonight, a small pizza place that's relatively new in town. It's small and has music playing so if anyone acted up we wouldn't feel so stressed out. We have to start out by me going inside to see if they have a table available that's big enough to accomodate the family of six (with three high chairs/slings and a booster!) then unload the crew. For now Ed can carry two carseats and I carry the other and a huge diaper bag while walking with Kyle. I'm not sure what we'll do when they get a little heavier?! Once again, they were very well behaved and didn't fuss until we were done with dinner.

The best part of having triplets is that you meet a lot of friendly, interesting people (we'll see if I'm saying that same thing after we've been out a little more!). We met a very nice family at dinner who couldn't believe we were able to get out of the house, then met another sweet family in line at Dairy Queen (Kyle's "reward" - ok, mommy's reward!- for being good at dinner and eating A LOT of pizza). Who knew we'd make friends every time we went out? The gentleman at dinner suggested that we charge $1 for everyone that wants to see, talk about or hold our children. He figured we'd be rich in no time. My "circus act" theory is true!!!! Never had so many stares in my life...

Off to tend to a crying baby...poor Brooke!

This cracked me up because seriously- Ali Jane made the same comment to a stranger at McDonald's (Ali's Eyes blog)- that cracked me up that Kyle said it too!
Thanks for the congrats- the little birdie has a big mouth and I told him last- I think you're right (trying to keep up with the Millers) He was all excited until he learned the news that he's still going to be 'behind'- think he'll have to talk to Dan and Steph- tubes are tied after this one!!! :-)
