Happy Fifteen Month Birthday Babies!

Three babies + one chair (big brother's) = TROUBLE!

Cute gowns! In fifteen years, this could be great blackmail material for the babies :-)
It's fun to watch the kids all play together these days. Although everyone is starting to want the same toy, to be in the same place, eat the same thing, etc. In other words, fighting is now a common practice around here! Poor Brookie has already learned how to defend herself (fight back!) and the boys will actually gang up on her to pull off her shoes, socks, roll on her, etc. Kyle is pretty good about defending her but has been known to join in the fray!

They are all GREAT sleepers. They usually go to bed around 7:30 pm and wake up around 7:30 or 8 am. When they do wake up, they will sit in their beds and talk to one another. Since Ryan & Jack's cribs are end to end, they will throw their stuffed animals into each others cribs!

Here's the latest on all three:

  • All are great eaters! They are eating all table food these days along with lots o' milk still. They look forward to their bottles (doc says it ok if they just drink and go!) but also enjoy water and apple juice.

  • They all love to practice stacking blocks and putting rings on the tower.

  • All of them use a few signs: eat, milk, more and all done.

  • The babies love to kiss each other. It's very cute to see them do it, so sweet and innocent. Kyle, Ed and I get a few kisses too :-)

  • Brooke & Ryan still use a pacifier in bed. It stays in their beds and the only other time they get it is when we're traveling.
Sweet baby Ryan

Ryan is still the mild mannered babe. He is definitely the shy one though. When he meets a stranger, he will stare at them, then bow his head and lower his eyes...it's so amazingly cute! He also has the most expressions. Here are a few tidbits:

  • Ryan has four teeth still, the two eye teeth are ready to break through any day

  • He likes to do somersaults! When you ask him to do one, he'll lower his head and try to get himself over. He's not able to completely do it himself but it's so cute to see him try!

  • Ryan loves to use the toy vacuum cleaner. He's mastered the back and forth movement of the vacuum. Now if we could just get him to use the big one :-)

  • He's our cuddler. He likes to snuggle up, whether it's with his bottle or just for a little lovin'!

  • There's not many foods that Ryan doesn't like. He'll eat most anything, but will leave a few carrots behind. Unfortunately he likes to rub his food in his hair. I guess that's what we get for teaching him to raise his arms for "all done"! And you know he's really done when he spreads food all over his tray.
Little Miss Brookie!

Height: 29" (9th percentile)
Head: 18.9" (95th percentile)

Brookie finally got a tooth! Just this weekend, her top right tooth came through. You can't hardly see it yet but we were ready to get the first one out of the way :-) She is definitely the sensitive one. She's done amazingly well despite having TEF surgery at birth. When we last visited the surgeon in November, he said she's doing so well that he didn't need to see her again for a year to eighteen months. We do have to watch her closely, as she likes to put a lot in her mouth at once and has choked on her food a few times. In the picture above, Brooke was carrying around as many puzzle pieces as she could fit in her hand. And did this all week while we were in FL!

A few Brookie tidbits:

  • Brooke loves to read. Her favorite books are the fuzzy animal board books. She will bring it over to you and sit in your lap :-)

  • She likes to dance and will sway side to side

  • As soon as you put her in her car seat, she starts "talking" and doesn't stop until you arrive at your destination or she falls asleep!

  • Most of her words are jibberish but she can say, "mama", "dada" and "WOW!".

  • We were at the doctor today and my dad asked Jack what a cow says, and from across the room, Brooke said, clear as day, "moo!" I'm sure this won't be the last time Brooke speaks for her brothers :-)

  • Brooke has really mastered her walking over the past few weeks. She looks very cute walking with her chunky little legs :-)
Smiley Jack

Stats:
Weight: 20 lbs 6 oz (6th percentile)
Height: 30.25" (28th percentile)
Head: 18.2" (23rd percentile)

Jack is the busy boy. He's SO happy most of the time and is always the first one to have a smile on his face. He hasn't met anyone he doesn't love and everyone can count on him to hold when his brother and sister start crying :-)

And a few tidbits about Jack:

  • Jack has the largest vocabulary to-date. A few of his favorite words are, "mama", "dada", "nite nite", "no, no" (maybe because he hears it a lot himself?!) and "quack, quack". He will repeat other words back to you too.

  • He LOVES his bat and ball. Kyle is very excited that he has a little protege! Jack will carry his bat and ball throughout the house and is trying to hit the ball with his bat, like his big bro. By summertime, they'll be chasing each other around the bases!

  • Jack also likes doing somersaults like Ryan

  • He loves to hear his voice, as he screams a lot out of joy. I know people on the plane loved that :-) Thank goodness it comes with that sweet smile!

  • Jack just started walking well over the past few weeks. As of this last week, he can get himself up to a standing position all by himself.

Our world has changed even more so now that everyone is walking. You'll ask someone to come to you and they'll look at you with their devilish grins and start walking the other way! Our lives are definitely a little more chaotic but we wouldn't change our crazy life for anything in the world...most days anyway :-) We are truly blessed to have four, crazy monsters running all over!
