Happy three and a half years, Kyle!

Since Kyle's birthday is in the summer, we celebrated his half birthday at school last week. We made cupcakes in ice cream cones and Kyle decorated them with sprinkles. Grandma came to the party with us and we had lots of fun. Kyle wasn't sure about wearing the crown before class but once he put it on, he felt pretty special. I'd say he's not one to enjoy being the center of attention but after school he said, "everyone said thank you for the cupcakes, that was nice!".

It's amazing how self sufficient he is these days - love it! When he's in the mood, he can pick out his clothes, dress himself (still mastering the shirt over the head thing) and get his coat/hat/shoes on. He knows how to unlock the back sliding glass door to let Macey in/out and re-lock. I was SO happy once he figured this one out :-) He has quite the vocabulary and when he says some funny things, you wonder where he heard it or how he remembered it and used it in context?!

Kyle is definitely my shy guy and pretty laid back. He has a little temper on him though...the "terrible three's" are alive and well in our house! I think he's starting to get a little more jealous of the babies now versus when they were younger. Whenever one of them is playing with one of his toys, he suddenly wants to play with it too?! There are occasions when the babies watch and learn something from him (hitting a baseball with the bat) and he's pretty proud of himself for "teaching" them, so it balances itself out. Take the good with the bad, right?

He knows all of his letters and we're practicing writing his name. He's one of the biggest loves of my life and I can't believe he's on the back side of three years old. Time flies when you're having fun!
