Kyle's 2nd Birthday Party

Today we celebrated Kyle's 2nd birthday. Wow what a difference a year makes! This year he was walking (obviously!), LOVED to hear us sing Happy Birthday, actually wore his hat and took a small little bite of the frosting (rather than smashing the whole cake) :-)

We had a small party with some family and friends as life is a little crazy this year. It turned out to be a good thing because Ed ended having a kidney stone! He got it last Saturday night/Sunday morning. We ended up in the ER twice (Sunday & Tuesday) because he was in so much pain. The nurses were joking with him that he did it on purpose because he was sick of the attention that I was getting being pregnant. He had to remind all of us that people compare a stone to a woman giving birth. Whatever...one week certainly doesn't compare to the nine months of carrying a baby! Poor guy, he was in pain for 8 days as he didn't pass it until the Monday after Kyle's party.

Kyle got lots of fun presents for his birthday: dump trucks, clothes, big blocks and lots of other toys. We recently did a little re-arranging at home and removed our dining room furniture and it's now a playroom for Kyle and soon for his brothers and sister. It's already worked out great as he has so much more room to play and to store all of his toys. My parents bought him a little activity table which is so cute as it's the perfect size for him to sit and eat, color, play, etc.
